Do they show zombie movies at those places, with rats running around on the floor eating stale popcorn kernels from the week before off the sticky cola-stained floor, or are some of them actually fairly decent with a workable air-con?"

I don't know about the state of the theaters. They show films by well-known Western directors however. And they were having a little festival on 1960s Taiwanese films when I was there (I didn't see any of them as I was only in Kaohsiung for about four hours).

BTW, I didn't delete the comment above. That was someone else. I was just ...Yo, Patrick, it's Doug Ellsworth here. I was just going through my Gmail account trying to get it a bit more organized (well, actually, get it much more organized because even a bit would be a lot since it has never been organized at all before -- really getting out of hand, that ole Gmail account, as they can do, email accounts that is). And I came across an email from you dated 1/10/07 about a survey you were working on at the time. This email missive also had a link to your blogspot weblog, so here I am. I am writing this while at my desk at the Bureau of Foreign Trade. Tough day hanging out chatting with Alex and Jyalin after their classes were finished at 2:30 and then with Ati at 3:30 when he came up from the 4th to the 5th Floor to see if I wanted to take a break. And of course before these strenuous rounds of leisure discussion I had been busy organizing away at my Gmailness and now I am under the intense pressure to complete this comment for your blog. Yeah, working for the government is tough stuff to get through on a daily business, especially on days like today when I don't even get to the office until almost lunch time. The horror, the horror.

And speaking of horror, Jesus Christ, the fucking guy's foot fell off? Whoah! Plus it was putrid??!! God's tooth! Like, gag me with, like, whatever, a spoon probably isn't resilient enough to do the gagging job. It's a good thing it wasn't his head or maybe his story never would have been told . . . makes one think, you know . . . mostly of zombie movies, actually.

Anyway, nice pix of those old movie theatres. Do they show zombie movies at those places, with rats running around on the floor eating stale popcorn kernels from the week before off the sticky cola-stained floor, or are some of them actually fairly decent with a workable air-con?

Oh, shit. I was just given two paragraphs to edit. I guess I'd best get crackin'. Later on, dude. Over and out. Doug AKA Iago at Chaos Chasm II

P.S. Oopsie . . . well, I figured it out and got these reflections posted, the first posting attempt having just confused me. Ha ha.
